Publication rights
To publish a manuscript, Treatise must ensure that it has obtained all the necessary rights. In the majority of cases the standard Transfer of Copyright agreement completed by the corresponding author will continue to be sufficient. To help manage this process, authors will be directed by Treatise, via email, to this service after their manuscript has been accepted for publication. Authors should be aware that accepted manuscripts will not be prepared for publication (copyedited or formatted) until Treatise is in receipt of all the agreement(s) associated with them.
Copyright is a form of legal protection for original works of authorship. Copyright covers both published and unpublished works. Like many other scientific publishers, Treatise requires authors to provide transfer of copyright prior to publication. This permits Treatise to publish the article and to defend against improper use (or even theft) of the article. It also permits Treatise to publish the article online and to use the article in other forms or media.
